Acura’s line of luxury SUVs continued to post impressive sales with a monthly gain of nearly 60 percent. The best-selling Acura for April was the MDX luxury SUV with 3,714 units sold, a 58.9 percent increase. The RDX crossover SUV sold 1,168 units, posting a sales gain of 57.8 percent.

Park Avenue Acura also had a great sales month in April leading the way for Northern Jersey Acura car dealers.

“The fresh new styling of the MDX and RDX is proving popular with customers,” said Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales. “Combining a smart blend of looks, performance and utility, Acura’s luxury SUVs continue to succeed within a competitive category.”

Acura car sales were led by the TL performance luxury sedan with 2,842 units sold, down 8.5 percent. The TSX sports sedan tallied 2,607 units sold, an increase of 7.3 percent.

The 2010 MDX luxury SUV, is now on sale at Park Avenue Acura with a manufacturers suggested retail price* (MSRP) starting at $42,230, plus a destination and handling (D&H) charge of $810, Acura announced today.

2010 Acura RL with C.M.B.S.

Honda Motor Company has announced it has developed the world’s first Collision Mitigation Brake System (CMBS), which predicts rear-end collisions and assists brake operation to reduce the impact to occupants and the vehicle itself.

The Honda system determines the likelihood of a collision based on driving conditions, distance to the vehicle ahead, and relative speeds, and uses visual and audio warnings to prompt the driver to take preventative action.  It can also initiate braking to reduce the vehicle’s speed.  The new system in combination with the “E-Pretensioner,” which retracts the seatbelt in anticipation of impact, will be installed in the new 2010 Acura RL.
